Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of airline customer service
  • minimum 6 months computer experience
  • ability to operate phones, computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclock
  • proven track record in supervision
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • able to process information timely
  • must maintain valid driver’s license
  • able to speak, read, and write English proficiently
  • must complete required training and certifications
  • must clear FBI fingerprint background check
  • physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varied weather conditions
  • must work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • must have high school diploma or GED
  • must pass drug test and maintain drug-free status

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • experience in airport ground handling
  • computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • experience supervising a business unit
  • knowledge of operational planning and resource allocation
  • working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance
  • understanding of commercial issues in aviation
  • ability to navigate electronic devices
  • proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • valid driver’s license
  • previous ramp or airline experience

Job Duties

  • Monitor and ensure safe and efficient operation of all airline ground support equipment
  • report functional and mechanical discrepancies on ground support equipment
  • coordinate with assigned carriers to meet cargo and baggage service needs and ensure on-time schedules
  • maintain safe and efficient equipment operating status
  • collaborate with supervisors and managers to coordinate activities across departments
  • determine manpower requirements and enforce disciplinary procedures fairly and consistently
  • comply with attendance and tardiness standards
  • perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
  • read and interpret aircraft weight and balance instructions, hazardous materials labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage routing tags
  • ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, municipal, airport authority, and carrier regulations
  • brief crews before flights on their positions and operational procedures
  • perform other duties as assigned
