Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Good communication skills and friendly personality in person and via telephone
  • Possess entry-level computer skills
  • Occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds
  • Pass an extensive post offer pre-employment background check including fingerprinting and criminal history record check
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist customers promptly and courteously over the phone and in person
  • Announce incoming and outbound flights
  • Handle credit card and personal check transactions accurately and conduct airline close out procedures
  • Accept and process checked baggage up to 100 pounds and load onto conveyor belts
  • Operate jetways by placing them in position before aircraft arrival and manage aircraft doors including lifting, opening, closing, and securing
  • Use airline computer systems for flight information, ticketing, boarding documents, and baggage/cargo tracking
  • Stand and work in the same location for up to four hours at a time
  • Escort unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport
  • Work independently without direct supervision
