Job Requirements
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- ability to process information in a timely manner
- physical fitness to perform duties including standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
- capable of repetitively lifting up to 70 pounds in confined spaces
- willingness to work outside in all types of weather with exposure to loud noises
- must be flexible to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours on short notice during non-routine operations
Job Qualifications
- must have a high school diploma or GED
- able to proficiently speak, read, and write in English
- basic computer literacy
- previous ramp or airline experience
- knowledge of commercial issues in aviation
- ability to navigate electronic devices such as computers, fax machines, printers, and timeclocks
- working knowledge of ground support equipment maintenance issues
- must successfully complete all training requirements and maintain certifications throughout employment
- must clear an FBI fingerprint background check
Job Duties
- load/unload air cargo on and off aircraft, carts, container, and trucks
- transport cargo between terminals and aircraft including ramp transfers such as receiving, delivering, weighing, and documenting
- prepare and palletize cargo as needed
- read and legibly complete cargo documents and forms required by the airline
- assure proper handling and delivery of cargo and operation of related equipment
- follow dangerous goods requirements and regulations
- comply with GAT Airline Ground Support's standard operating procedures and policies
- pick-up and delivery of cargo including mail and freight at specified facilities
- perform all other duties as assigned
