The City of Burlington, Vermont, is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented individual for the position of Airport Ambassador at the Burlington International Airport. Job Requirements

- Minimum two years experience working in public service or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to stand for several hours

- Ability to obtain airport secured area ID badge including passing fingerprint check, security assessment and written exam

Job Duties
- Serve as a front line ambassador at Burlington International Airport terminal, roadways and parking office by assisting customers with luggage and wheelchairs, answering questions, giving directions, and maintaining safety and security requirements
- Process transactions and collect fees from customers using automated fee computers and assist with self-service equipment
- Be knowledgeable of airport facilities, terminal and fire exits, other airport buildings and traffic routes
- Observe and uphold Airport and TSA security requirements
- Keep informed of airline arrival and departure schedules
- Communicate information about ground transportation access and availability
- Regularly patrol airport terminal and parking garage as an ambassador
- Cooperate with Airport Operations and Burlington Police officers on security and customer service matters
- Maintain positive public relations by responding promptly to inquiries and complaints
- Enforce airport rules, traffic flow and parking regulations including directing traffic
- Prevent security breaches by manning designated exits as directed
- Collect luggage carts and wheelchairs throughout the day
- Assist with monitoring parking garage capacity and directing vehicles
- Execute Ground Transportation duties such as permit distribution, payment collection, and paperwork filing
- Operate remote monitoring stations to assist patrons of the parking garage upon entry and exit
