Job Requirements

  • applicant must possess a USAF Pilot rating
  • hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
  • have minimum total military flight time of at least 750 hours for GS-2181-12
  • have minimum total military flight time of at least 1,000 hours for GS-2181-13
  • have minimum total military flight time of at least 1,200 hours for GS-2181-13 flight instructor
  • have minimum total military flight time of at least 1,500 hours for GS-2181-14 flight instructor
  • submit official flight history documentation
  • meet military physical fitness and specialty requirements
  • ability to acquire and maintain Air Force Reserve military membership
  • willingness to comply with uniform and service obligations

Job Qualifications

  • possession of a USAF Pilot rating
  • holding a valid aviation service aeronautical order
  • meeting specified total military flight time requirements based on grade level
  • experience in flying components of the U.S. military establishment
  • demonstrated ability to progress into wing operations or training officer roles
  • completion of necessary military membership requirements
  • ability to meet physical fitness standards

Job Duties

  • operating assigned aircraft safely and efficiently
  • conducting flight training and instructional sessions
  • maintaining compliance with aviation regulations and military standards
  • preparing and reviewing flight plans and mission briefs
  • coordinating with aircrew and ground support personnel
  • performing pre-flight and post-flight inspections
  • participating in ongoing professional development and training programs
