The United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Air Reserve Technician (ART) specializing as an Airplane or Helicopter Pilot. The USAFR is an essential component of the total Air Force, providing operational capability, strategic depth, and combat readiness. Job Requirements
- applicant must possess a USAF pilot rating
- hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
- minimum of 750 total military flight hours for GS-2181-12 level
- minimum of 1,000 total military flight hours for GS-2181-13 level
- minimum of 1,200 total military flight hours plus two years of progressive flying experience for GS-2181-13 flight instructor
- minimum of 1,500 total military flight hours plus three years of progressive flying experience for GS-2181-14 flight instructor
- submit official documentation proving flight hours and recent flight activity
- maintain Air Force Reserve membership
- comply with age, height, weight, and physical fitness standards
- meet uniformed military specialty requirements
Job Qualifications
- possession of a USAF pilot rating
- valid aviation service aeronautical order
- minimum required military flight hours as per grade level
- progressive flying experience for instructor roles
- capability to meet and maintain military fitness and uniform standards
- experience with mission design series aircraft
- understanding of flight operations and training protocols
Job Duties
- conduct flight operations safely and efficiently
- instruct and mentor junior pilots and flight crew
- maintain proficiency through simulator and real flight training
- perform evaluations and assessments of flight readiness
- comply with all military and aviation regulations
- coordinate with unit leadership on operational readiness
- ensure aircraft mission readiness and support
