Job Requirements
- valid USAF pilot rating
- valid aviation service aeronautical order
- minimum 750 total military flight hours for GS-2181-12
- minimum 1,000 total military flight hours for GS-2181-13 pilot
- minimum 1,200 total military flight hours for GS-2181-13 flight instructor
- minimum 1,500 total military flight hours for GS-2181-14 flight instructor
- submission of ATAFR-209 Form or equivalent flight documentation
- ability to maintain military membership in the Air Force Reserve
- meet physical fitness, age, height, and weight standards
- eligibility for Air Reserve Technician status
- military service separation within 120 days if applicable
- willingness to wear uniform and meet military specialty requirements
Job Qualifications
- possession of a USAF pilot rating
- holding a valid aviation service aeronautical order
- progressively responsible flying experience for instructor roles
- minimum flight hours based on grade level
- demonstrated ability to maintain military and civilian job responsibilities
- experience in mission design series aircraft operations
- effective communication and instructional skills
Job Duties
- conduct military flight operations in mission design series aircraft
- maintain pilot proficiency and certification
- instruct and evaluate trainee and junior pilots
- comply with all operational and safety regulations
- maintain military membership and adhere to physical and fitness standards
- provide mission support during active duty tours
- complete and submit required flight and training documentation
