This job opportunity is offered through a government public notice for Air Reserve Technician (ART) positions within the Air Force Reserve. The Air Reserve Technician program is designed to support the Air Reserve units and their critical mission with skilled professionals who are both civilian employees and members of the military reserve. Job Requirements
- applicant must possess a USAF pilot rating
- hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
- have the required total military flight time for the specific pay grade and position
- ability to obtain and maintain military membership in the Air Force Reserve
- meet military physical standards including age, height, weight, and fitness
- submit official documentation verifying flight hours and recent flight activity
- willingness to comply with uniform and military specialty requirements
- availability for active duty mobilization if required
- ability to work full-time as a permanent or term employee
Job Qualifications
- possession of a USAF pilot rating
- hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
- minimum of 750 military flight hours for GS-12 pilot positions
- minimum of 1,000 military flight hours for GS-13 pilot positions
- minimum of 1,200 flight hours and two years of responsible military flying experience for GS-13 flight instructors
- minimum of 1,500 flight hours and three years of responsible military flying experience for GS-14 flight instructors
- progressively responsible experience in military flying assignments
- ability to meet military physical fitness and uniform standards
Job Duties
- operate aircraft safely and effectively in accordance with military and civilian regulations
- maintain and update flight logs and records including total flight hours and types of aircraft flown
- provide flight instruction and training to junior pilots and military personnel
- comply with military standards for physical fitness, uniform wear, and specialty qualifications
- participate in military readiness activities including active duty tours and mobilizations
- ensure adherence to policies related to military membership and aeronautical certification
- submit and maintain required documentation such as flight history reports and aviation service orders
