Job Description

This opportunity is offered within the United States Air Force Reserve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. Air Reserve Technicians are unique federal employees who simultaneously maintain a military status in the Air Force Reserve and a civilian career with the Air Force. Job Requirements

  • Possess USAF Pilot rating
  • Hold valid aviation service aeronautical order
  • Minimum of 750 to 1,500 total military flight hours depending on the grade
  • Submit official flight time documentation
  • Meet military physical fitness standards
  • Obtain military membership in Air Force Reserve
  • Maintain uniform and military specialty requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Possess a USAF Pilot rating
  • Hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
  • Have required military flight time based on GS-2181 grade level
  • Demonstrate progressively responsible flying experience for flight instructor roles
  • Ability to submit official flight documentation (ATAFR-209 Form or Flying History Report)
  • Meet physical fitness, age, height, and weight military standards
  • Experience in military aviation environment

Job Duties

  • Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections of aircraft
  • Operate and navigate aircraft safely under various conditions
  • Provide instruction and training to other pilots and crew members
  • Maintain accurate flight records and documentation
  • Comply with all military and aviation regulations
  • Participate in ongoing training and readiness exercises
  • Support mission planning and execution activities
