Job Requirements

  • military grades 2nd lt through lt col
  • minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below next higher level
  • federal aviation administration pilot certificates or appropriate military certifications
  • two years experience in civilian or military aviation programs
  • ability to read and apply mission tasks, intelligence reports, and weather information
  • experience in mission planning, flight preparations, and crew briefings
  • familiarity with air navigation, flying directives, and mission tactics

Job Qualifications

  • undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certifications or equivalent military aviation certifications
  • minimum of two years experience in civilian or military aviation programs
  • skilled in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, and mission tactics
  • experienced in planning and conducting pilot training and evaluations
  • knowledge of aviation safety programs and regulations
  • ability to operate fixed-wing, rotary, or remotely piloted aircraft

Job Duties

  • pilot mainframe military aircraft during missions
  • conduct mission planning, preparations, and crew briefings
  • perform aircraft preflight inspections and equipment assessments
  • supervise and conduct pilot training on military aircraft
  • ensure compliance with safety programs and aviation regulations
  • coordinate with FAA and other agencies for mission and airspace utilization
  • execute various mission types including reconnaissance, search and rescue, and combat operations
