The Air National Guard (ANG) aviation units are an integral part of the United States' total defense capabilities, providing highly trained individuals skilled in the operation of military aircraft as part of the Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Operations Group. Job Requirements
- Must have a Federal Aviation Administration certification awarded from an accredited civilian aviation program or military equivalent
- Must have one year on-the-job experience in grade or comparable military rank below the next higher level
- Submit unofficial transcripts or certificates at application if meeting education requirements
- For foreign education, provide equivalency evaluation from recognized organization
- Experience of at least 36 months in operating main-frame military aircraft
- Proven ability in mission planning, preparation, and execution
- Experience conducting or supervising training
- Adherence to Department of Defense and related safety policies and regulations
Job Qualifications
- Possess Federal Aviation Administration certification or equivalent military aviation certification
- Have at least 36 months specialized experience with military aircraft operation
- Experience with mission planning and preparation
- Skilled in reviewing mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information
- Proven ability to file flight plans and conduct crew briefings
- Experience in aircraft inspections and equipment assessments
- Familiarity with navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue or reconnaissance
- Strong leadership in training and supervising crew members
- Knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, mission tactics, and operating procedures
- Understanding of safety programs in military and federal organizations
Job Duties
- Operate specific main-frame military aircraft
- Plan and prepare for missions including intelligence and weather analysis
- File flight plans and conduct crew briefings
- Perform aircraft preflight inspections and supervise loading and equipment assessments
- Conduct or supervise navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue, or reconnaissance operations
- Train crew members in mission-specific tasks
- Develop plans, monitor operations, advise commanders on mission execution and safety
