Job Requirements
- Federal Aviation Administration certification from accredited civilian aviation program or military aviation certification
- Minimum one year of on-the-job experience at the grade or comparable military rank below the next level
- Must be able to provide transcripts or certificates verifying educational or certification qualifications
- Compliance with Department of Defense, National Guard Bureau, Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety standards and directives
- Evaluation of credentials if education was completed at foreign institutions
Job Qualifications
- Federal Aviation Administration certification or accredited military aviation school certification
- At least 36 months of specialized experience in military aircraft operations
- Experience in mission planning and preparation
- Proficiency in reviewing mission-related intelligence and environmental factors
- Skilled in conducting preflight inspections and crew briefings
- Strong leadership and training capabilities
- Knowledge of flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, and mission tactics
- Familiarity with safety and security policies and regulations
Job Duties
- Operate main-frame military aircraft and conduct mission planning
- Review and analyze mission tasking, intelligence, and weather information
- File flight plans and conduct crew briefings
- Perform aircraft preflight inspections, loading, and equipment assessments
- Supervise navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue or surveillance operations
- Train crew members on mission-specific tasks
- Develop plans and policies, monitor operations, and advise commanders
