Job Requirements

  • Must be an Air Reserve Technician Officer
  • Willingness to meet Air Force Reserve participation and training obligations
  • Ability to pass standardization and evaluation flight examinations
  • Willingness to work unusual tours of duty and overtime as needed
  • Must be mobility agreement compliant and willing to transfer as directed
  • Must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
  • Ability to fly in military and commercial aircraft for temporary duty assignments

Job Qualifications

  • Must possess a military rank of Lieutenant Colonel
  • Instructor qualified in unit aircraft
  • Logged at least 1,000 total pilot hours or 1,300 primary flight hours
  • Knowledge of flying operations and rated aviator expertise
  • Knowledge of DOD planning and programming related to flying activities
  • Awareness of Air Force Reserve entities and their operational roles
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities

Job Duties

  • Formulate plans and policies pertaining to operations and unit flying training activities
  • Participate in regular, frequent flights and pass standardization/evaluation flight examinations
  • Manage and evaluate flying operations ensuring readiness and compliance
  • Maintain instructor qualifications and provide flight instruction
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements and participate in unit training assemblies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
