This job opportunity is with the Air Force Reserve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer. Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must be a current member of the Air Force Reserves or willing and qualified to join
  • Security clearance may be required
  • Must sign a mobility agreement
  • Subject to random drug testing
  • May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
  • Must maintain current certifications
  • Advance in hire may be authorized with proof
  • Recruitment and relocation incentives may be authorized
  • Leave accrual may be authorized upon request
  • Must obtain and retain appropriate security clearance
  • Must become instructor qualified within two years of appointment
  • May be required to fly military or commercial aircraft for temporary duties

Job Qualifications

  • Air Reserve Technician officer position
  • Military rank of Lieutenant Colonel
  • Must be instructor qualified in unit aircraft
  • Logged 1,000 or more total pilot hours or 1,300 hours primary flight time
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities
  • Knowledge of flying operations and rated aviator expertise
  • Knowledge of DOD planning and programming
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Analyze and interpret unit goals, mission, metrics, policies and objectives
  • Perform pilot and pilot in command duties in assigned aircraft
  • Provide flight instruction to Reservists, instructors, flight examiners and assigned personnel
  • Conduct continuous flying safety program and maintain safety education files
  • Schedule pilots for required flying training and extra hours
  • Review mission tasking, intelligence and weather information
  • Perform mission planning, prepare and file flight plans, and brief crews
  • Accomplish administrative duties related to flight instruction, squadron operations and mission planning
