Job Requirements
- must meet specialized experience as per OPM qualification standards for ART flying positions
- federal time-in-grade requirement of one year at GS-12 level for GS-13 applicants
- submit official flying hour documentation including AFTAR 209
- must obtain military membership in the Air Force Reserve
- meet age, height, weight, and physical fitness standards
- demonstrate ability to communicate effectively
- military members on terminal leave must provide certification or statement of service
- retired military eligibility subject to current assignment
- must wear uniform and maintain job-specific military requirements
Job Qualifications
- must have a USAF Navigator or Combat Systems Officer rating
- hold a valid aviation service aeronautical order
- minimum 1,000 total military flight hours
- instructor qualified in unit aircraft
- meet Office of Personnel Management specialized experience standards
- knowledge of flying operations and military aviation protocols
- ability to develop training plans and policies
- strong communication skills
- experience coordinating with military command structures
Job Duties
- perform flight operations as a qualified pilot and instructor
- develop and implement flying training programs
- formulate policies related to flying operations and unit training activities
- coordinate with Air Force Reserve entities and major commands
- maintain and ensure compliance with military specialty and fitness standards
- manage and resolve operational issues within the unit
- communicate effectively both orally and in writing
