Job Requirements
- Must be an Air Reserve Technician Officer
- Possess military rank of Lieutenant Colonel
- Meet Air Force Reserve requirements
- Willing to sign a mobility agreement and relocate as directed
- Obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance
- Pass standardization and evaluation flight examinations
- Become instructor qualified within two years of appointment
- Willingness to work overtime and deploy as required
- Comply with Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Job Qualifications
- Instructor qualified in unit aircraft
- Logged 1,000 or more total pilot hours or 1,300 hours primary flight time or instructor pilot time
- Knowledge of flying operations and rated aviator expertise
- Understanding of DOD planning and programming related to flying operations
- Ability to apply knowledge of capabilities and limitations of unit-assigned aircraft
- Strong leadership and managerial abilities
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Formulate plans and policies pertaining to flying operations and unit flying training activities
- Serve as an instructor-qualified pilot in unit aircraft
- Participate in regular flight evaluations including written tests and actual flight performance
- Independently plan and organize work to meet deadlines
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Maintain Air Force Reserve requirements and participate fully in unit training assemblies
- Perform other duties as assigned
