Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license
- Successfully pass new hire and random drug screenings
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must regularly stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel and lift up to 70 lbs. unassisted
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Sufficient auditory ability and able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 150 decibels requiring mandatory hearing protection
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Frequently exposed to loud noises, temperature changes, heat, and humidity
- Position requires working outside and in all weather conditions while exposed to moderate to loud noise levels requiring mandatory hearing protection
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to type, handle bags, boxes, objects, or controls
- Employee works near moving mechanical parts and able to move within work area
- Able to work in inclement weather, including extreme cold and warm temperatures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Read, write, and speak English at a basic comprehensive level
- Basic mathematical skills
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Successfully pass all Airline and Airport initial and recurrent training
- Ability to respond to emergency situations and in severe weather conditions
Job Duties
- Aircraft towing, marshalling aircraft to and from the gates, lavatory servicing, potable water servicing, aircraft de-icing
- Aircraft interior cleaning, aircraft and commissary security searches
- Stock aircraft and carts with supplies as required
- Load, offload, and transport luggage to and from the aircraft
- Provide proper handling of baggage requiring special care
- Properly operate, maintain and fuel heavy, motorized equipment including but not limited to baggage tractors/tugs, belt loaders, push-back tugs, deicing and commissary trucks
- Ensure ramp area is safe and free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
- General housekeeping, snow removal, maintaining clean assigned area
- Work in conjunction with other departments to ensure on-time performance
- Adhere to all Airline, TSA and FAA regulations as well as Authority policies, procedures, and best practices while upholding safety, security, and service
- Professionally communicate over a two-way radio, cheerfully manage telephone calls
- Assist customer with luggage and or wheelchair requests
- Must be available to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays and must be able to stay late for irregular operations
- Additional duties as assigned
