Job Requirements
- Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level
- Experience performing, administering, or supervising technical and analytical transportation work
- Experience interpreting laws and regulations concerning transportation and traffic
- Ability to manage airfield functions according to Army, UFC, ETL, and FAA standards
- Experience leading personnel and managing aviation operations
- Ability to communicate effectively and serve as aviation staff advisor
- Must provide complete dates and hours worked for all employment
- Must be U.S. citizen
- Must be mission essential and available for irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate education in accounting, business administration, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, transportation, or related field
- Experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of transportation equipment or services
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing transportation vehicles
- Experience in managing transportation operations within a commercial or military aviation context
- Ability to lead, direct, and assign work of personnel
- Experience in interpreting transportation and traffic laws and regulations
- Experience preparing and overseeing airfield safety and operational programs
Job Duties
- Perform, administer, or supervise technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs
- Interpret applicable Federal, State, and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures
- Manage the airfield in accordance with Army regulations, United Facilities Criteria, Engineering Technical Letters, and FAA Advisory Circulars
- Serve as the principal staff advisor on aviation matters and participate in installation planning boards and aviation safety meetings
- Conduct inspections and submit work orders for maintenance and repair of airfield fixed facilities such as runways, taxiways, parking ramps, and lighting systems
- Develop, implement, manage, and annually review airfield-related plans and programs including safety, prevention, quality assurance, hazard management, and training programs
- Delegate authority to subordinate supervisors and coordinate and monitor the execution of assigned functions
