Job Requirements
- Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license or ability to obtain by date of hire
- Possession of a valid City Operator’s Permit within six months from date of hire
- Ability to qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card per Aviation Department and TSA guidelines
- Successful completion of security background check by U.S. Customs and Border Protection if applicable
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in general maintenance, grounds maintenance, street maintenance, construction, or paving
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Understanding of safety and security protocols for airport environments
Job Duties
- Provide ground maintenance for the airport and its facilities
- Perform facility maintenance and repair tasks
- Operate pavement maintenance equipment to repair airfield surfaces
- Repair airport equipment and surrounding property
- Interpret and abide by department policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with the communications tower
- Work independently and follow oral and written instructions
