Job Requirements
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact in dealing with various individuals
- Must be able to lift, carry and hold up to 75 lbs
- Physical exam may be required
- Must be able to read identification badges and labels
- Must be able to open latches, zippers and screw caps
- Must be able to hear and respond to spoken voice and alarms
- Must be able to reach all body parts with one hand or metal detector
- Must have manual dexterity for screening operations
- May be exposed to hazards from investigations
- Must be able to sit, stand, lift and bend throughout shift
- Identification badges must be visible at all times
- Must adhere to uniform and company policies
- Must provide verbal detainment without physical restraint when necessary
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military or public contact preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Must be able to verbally communicate in English
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must pass pre-employment background check
Job Duties
- Provide security screening of persons and property using screening equipment
- Conduct physical inspections to prevent hijacking and criminal acts
- Communicate courteously and effectively with employees and the public
- Notify Airline Ground Security Coordinator and Law Enforcement Officers as needed
- Conduct physical searches and take appropriate action on dangerous items
- Test and maintain screening equipment and record operational tests
- Report all incidents, hazards and equipment problems immediately
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area
- Attend required meetings and training
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and wear proper uniform or business attire
