Job Requirements
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact to deal with various situations, clients, employees and public
- Able to lift, carry and hold up to 75 lbs
- Physical exam may be required
- Ability to read identification badges, credentials and labels on bottles and packages
- Able to open and close latches, zippers and screw caps, and search baggage
- Able to hear and respond to voice and alarms with background noise
- Able to reach all parts of standing adult body with one hand or metal detector
- Must have manual dexterity to operate hand wand and search items
- May be exposed to hazards during investigations
- Able to sit, stand, lift and bend throughout shift
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must pass pre-employment background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Previous airline experience preferred
- Previous experience in security, military, public contact preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Ability to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Ability to verbally direct in English
Job Duties
- Provide security screening of persons and property using hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections
- Treat all information as confidential
- Conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of questionable or dangerous items
- Notify Airline Ground Security Coordinator and law enforcement if necessary
- Verbally detain persons when appropriate without physical restraint
- Test screening equipment and record operational tests
- Communicate effectively with employees and the public and report safety hazards
