The California National Guard is seeking a dedicated and skilled Aircraft Survival Flight Equipment Repairer to join the Aircrew Life Support function within the Air Operations Division of the CA 144th Fighter Wing. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and survivability of aircrew members by maintaining, repairing, and testing critical survival equipment. Job Requirements
- California National Guard membership is required
- Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance
- Must successfully complete one or two year trial period
- Must wear military uniform and maintain grooming standards
- Must maintain compatible military unit, grade and assignment
- Mandatory participation in direct deposit
- Must attend survival and instructor courses
- Must obtain materials handling license
- Must be certified and current in OSHA
Job Qualifications
- Possess experience or training demonstrating knowledge of flight survival equipment
- Ability to understand written instructions and use reference manuals
- 18 months experience with aviation life support equipment
- Experience reading and interpreting military manuals
- Experience in supply procedures and property accountability
- Experience in collecting and presenting information
- Ability to plan a maintenance program
- Knowledge of equipment inspection and assembly
- Competency in product testing and evaluation
Job Duties
- Provide diagnostic, analytical, and calibration services for life support equipment
- Perform investigative research and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
- Conduct in-depth and quality control inspections
- Certify, test, evaluate, and maintain aircrew life support and chemical defense equipment
- Deliver formal academic and technical instruction to pilots and aircrew
- Participate as an aircraft mishap board representative
- Plan and implement functional shop maintenance programs
