Job Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance
  • US citizenship required
  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • must be able to obtain and maintain FAA Airframe and Powerplant License within 24 months after employment start date
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
  • must be able to work in remote and uncomfortable conditions
  • must tolerate long hours and exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous conditions

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License preferred or DD214 with aircraft maintenance experience
  • ability to obtain FAA Airframe and Powerplant License within 24 months of employment

Job Duties

  • Operate service vehicles to replenish water and waste system chemicals at select locations
  • assist with refueling, defueling, and towing aircraft as a tow vehicle operator
  • operate ground support equipment including electrical power carts, engine starting carts, air conditioning carts, nitrogen carts, oil and hydraulic carts for aircraft servicing
  • examine tires for specified air pressure and condition
  • position boarding platforms to load or unload passengers using staircase trucks
  • de-ice aircraft wings and assemblies at select locations
  • extract engine oil samples for analysis and provide to NDI
  • coordinate with air traffic control via radio for aircraft follow-me and towing to parking spots
  • retrieve drag chutes and return to maintenance units
  • coordinate parts ordering with base supply
  • perform other duties as assigned
