Job Requirements

  • Military grades of warrant officer (WO1 to CW4) or officer (2LT - MAJ)
  • at least two years of specialized competencies operating AH-64E aircraft
  • minimum one year on-the-job experience in the grade below
  • working experience in civilian or military aviation programs
  • ability to conduct mission planning, flight plan filing, and crew briefings
  • knowledge of Department of Defense and Occupational Safety and Health Administration policies
  • documentation to support education claims required

Job Qualifications

  • Military grades of warrant officer (WO1 to CW4) or officer (2LT - MAJ)
  • competent understanding of basic aviation principles and concepts
  • minimum one year on-the-job experience at the next lower grade or comparable military rank
  • at least two years of specialized experience operating military aircraft including AH-64E
  • experience in mission planning and preparation
  • skilled in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, mission tactics, and operating procedures
  • knowledge of military aviation safety programs and federal safety regulations
  • experience in training crew members and advising commanders
  • working experience in civilian or military aviation programs

Job Duties

  • Operate AH-64E aircraft during various military missions
  • conduct mission planning and preparation
  • review and analyze mission tasking, intelligence, and weather data
  • file flight plans and conduct crew briefings
  • perform aircraft preflight inspections and equipment assessments
  • supervise navigation, in-flight refueling, search and rescue, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations
  • train and supervise crew members in mission-specific tasks
