Job Qualifications
- Must have a current Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot Certificate or military equivalent
- Must have a current Federal Aviation Administration Flight Instructor Certificate or military equivalent
- Minimum 1,500 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command or co-pilot
- Minimum 250 hours pilot-in-command in rotary-wing helicopter
- Minimum 75 hours of night flying
- Minimum 100 hours of flight time in the preceding 12 months
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 level
- Experience in planning and executing rotary-wing aircraft sorties
- Experience conducting classroom instruction for rotary-wing flight training
- Skilled in developing and implementing aviation safety training
- Minimum 500 hours providing flight instruction related to area of instruction and aircraft category
Job Duties
- Pilot aircraft used in development and test programs
- Perform flights and ground simulations of advanced missions
- Serve as pilot aboard a helicopter
- Participate in planning and execution of rotary-wing aircraft sorties and evaluation activities
- Conduct classroom instruction on flight training and syllabus development
- Develop and implement aviation safety training principles and procedures
- Ensure safe and standardized flight operations
