Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Completion of formal on-the-job training or system familiarization course or one year of relevant aircraft maintenance experience
  • Ability to pass FAA-required 10-year work history review and background check
  • Willingness to submit to random drug and alcohol testing
  • Possession of required tools
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Stable employment history
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and travel up to 20 percent
  • Ability to wear respirator and protective equipment according to OSHA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Successful completion of formal on-the-job training program or system familiarization course on applicable aircraft or one year experience in aircraft maintenance
  • Three years of A&P mechanic experience on similar aircraft preferred
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • RII qualification on applicable aircraft preferred
  • Run and Taxi qualification on applicable aircraft preferred

Job Duties

  • Leads mechanics in performing preventive maintenance, repair, modifications and other maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in compliance with regulations
  • Performs maintenance mechanic duties inside and outside the hangar as well as at the airport terminal
  • Troubleshoots all aircraft systems and assists with executing maintenance work orders
  • Uses tools, equipment and test apparatus to complete work according to industry standards
  • Ensures calibrated tooling and parts are verified and in serviceable condition before use
  • Ensures safety protocols are followed and work areas are kept clean and free of hazards
  • Updates supervisor on work progress and reviews completed paperwork
  • Provides coaching and on-the-job training to mechanics
  • Participates in shift meetings and contributes to procedural improvements
  • Maintains current licenses and training as required by FAA and company
  • Provides technical leadership and input on performance evaluations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required
