Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six years related work experience in an aviation or related career field or two years accredited schooling in aviation with four years related work experience
  • Three years supervisory experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Preferred FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Previous production test station experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation
  • Preferred knowledge of Solumina and Smarteam
  • Ability to manage training compliance and coordinate multi-departmental work
  • Willingness to work weekend day shifts and travel up to 25 percent

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Three years supervisory experience
  • Previous production test station experience
  • Preferred FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Proficient in operation and troubleshooting of various aircraft systems beyond avionics preferred
  • Knowledge of Solumina and Smarteam preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret travelers, maintenance manuals, engineering orders, and blueprints

Job Duties

  • Assigns and coordinates all work tasks to ensure a smooth workflow by working directly with aircraft mechanics/technicians, engineering, and planning
  • Works with management teams to ensure company/department goals related to safety, quality, schedule and cost are met
  • Serves as subject matter expert for all installations/processes within assigned department
  • Collaborates with OE/ME/IEs to ensure work plans, work orders, and work instructions are accurate and supports necessary changes
  • Participates in lean initiatives alongside engineering teams
  • Oversees and coordinates department training compliance including skills matrix training, scheduled training, and CBTs
  • Coordinates out-of-station work to minimize customer impact
  • Implements process improvements to reduce out-of-station carry over work
  • Manages the Delegated Inspection Program to obtain inspection stamps for technicians
  • Ensures compliance with relevant specifications and released data
  • Leads safety programs and maintains 6S standards
  • Reviews daily job charging accuracy
  • Provides recommendations on employee performance evaluations
  • Maintains current aircraft status information and communicates to management
  • Ensures documentation retention and coordination of First Article Inspections for aircraft certification
  • Ensures compliance with high risk task procedures including up-to-date JRA/JSAs
  • Reviews quality discrepancies and reports trends
  • Coordinates with materials dispatchers/purchasing to ensure availability of parts/components/materials
  • Facilitates department participation in safety, quality, and continuous improvement councils
  • Performs other duties as assigned
