Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting/carrying patients or equipment up to 100 lbs with assistance
  • Must successfully pass background check, drug screen, physical assessment, and audiology test
  • Maximum allowable weight of 230 lbs in full flight gear
  • Ability to work full-time with 24 on 72 off schedule including holidays
  • Compliance with state and federal licensure and certification
  • Ability to maintain annual clinical competencies and mandatory training
  • Ability to demonstrate emotional resilience, multitasking ability, situational awareness, and professional composure under high-stress conditions
  • Willingness to travel frequently within service area and occasionally for overnight stays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current Texas Paramedic licensure
  • Certifications including BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred upon hire and required prior to air orientation completion
  • TPATC or ATLS audit preferred upon hire and required prior to air orientation completion
  • Minimum of 3 years (4,000 hours) experience in a busy 911 system as primary or lead care provider
  • FP-C or CCEMT-P preferred
  • FP-C required within 18 months of hire with first attempt within 12 months

Job Duties

  • Provide advanced critical care and life support during air, ground, and ECMO transport
  • Assess patient conditions and perform advanced medical interventions within scope of practice
  • Collaborate with nurses, pilots, dispatch, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and transport activities
  • Adhere to safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards
  • Advocate for patients by delivering compassionate and empathetic care
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
