Job Requirements

  • US citizenship is required
  • Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Must submit an SF50
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required
  • FAA Form 3330-43-1 is required
  • Qualifications must be met by closing date of the vacancy announcement
  • Position may be subject to background investigation
  • One-year probationary period may be required
  • Must file financial disclosure statement if selected
  • Subject to Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
  • Must maintain a medical clearance
  • Movement between CPC, TMC, TMS in the same facility results in no change in pay
  • Selection contingent upon waiver or completion of satisfactory security requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year in an ATO terminal or en route facility
  • Candidates must show specialized experience in air traffic control
  • Education may not be substituted for experience
  • Should include examples of specialized experience in work history
  • Must be committed to improving federal government efficiency and upholding the United States Constitution

Job Duties

  • Serves as an Traffic Manager Coordinator in an ATC-11 level terminal facility
  • Ensures that traffic management instructions and restrictions are initiated in accordance with established procedures
  • Assesses facility capacity and projects acceptable levels of traffic
  • Issues traffic flow restrictions to adjacent facilities, to space, hold, and reroute aircraft to distribute traffic flow and equalize workload
  • Follows agency policy when implementing traffic management initiatives
  • Maintains awareness of traffic flow, equipment status, airport and weather conditions, and traffic forecasts
  • Maintains currency on required positions of operation
  • Works under the administrative supervision of the Supervisory Traffic Management Coordinator
  • Performance is evaluated based on effectiveness in achieving program objectives
