Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Selective Service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Submission of SF50 form
  • Designated or random drug testing compliance
  • FAA Form 3330-43-1 submission
  • Qualifications met by closing date of vacancy announcement
  • Ability to pass background investigation
  • Willingness to file financial disclosure statement if selected
  • Compliance with Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
  • Maintenance of medical clearance
  • Ability to work under the administrative supervision of a Supervisory Traffic Management Coordinator

Job Qualifications

  • Facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year in an ATO terminal or en route facility
  • Demonstrated specialized experience in traffic management coordination
  • Ability to assess complex traffic conditions and make decisions under pressure
  • Understanding of aeronautical and meteorological conditions
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Knowledge of FAA policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Serve as a Traffic Manager Coordinator in an ATC-11 level terminal facility
  • Ensure traffic management instructions and restrictions are initiated in accordance with established procedures
  • Assess facility capacity and project acceptable levels of traffic
  • Issue traffic flow restrictions to adjacent facilities to manage spacing, holding, and rerouting of aircraft
  • Maintain awareness of traffic flow, equipment status, airport and weather conditions, and traffic forecasts
  • Follow agency policy during implementation of traffic management initiatives
  • Maintain currency on required positions of operation
