Job Requirements
- Valid Pilot Certificate
- Minimum flight hours as specified
- Class 2 FAA Medical Certificate with EKG if age 40 or older
- Ability to reside within 45 minutes of assigned Air Attack Base
- Ability to respond and be airborne within 15 minutes of dispatch notification
- Adherence to Cal Fire policies and Amentum operational procedures
- Professional conduct in accordance with company standards
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1800 hours as Pilot in Command of an airplane
- 800 hours in multi-engine airplanes
- 200 hours flying in mountainous terrain
- 75 total instrument hours
- 50 actual instrument hours
- 100 night flying hours
- 10 hours experience on make and model to be flown
- 500 hours aerial firefighting as PIC or co-pilot
- 100 hours flying multi-engine aircraft over 6000 pounds
- 50 hours flying multi-engine aircraft over 12500 pounds
- 50 hours flying multi-engine turbine-powered aircraft
- Possession of a Class 2 FAA Medical Certificate with EKG for candidates over age 40
Job Duties
- Staff air tactical platform at assigned Cal Fire base on assigned duty schedule
- Reside within 45 minutes of assigned Air Attack Base
- Act as Pilot in Command of assigned Air Tactical aircraft
- Work in cohesion with assigned Air Tactical Group Supervisors
- Respond to assigned dispatches accordingly and be airborne within 15 minutes of dispatch notification
- Act in accordance with assigned Air Attack Base policies and procedures
- Adhere to all Cal Fire 8300 policy and procedure
