Job Requirements
- Be able to act as Pilot in Command of Air Tactical aircraft
- Reside within 45 minutes of assigned Air Attack Base
- Possess minimum flight hours as specified
- Hold valid Class 2 FAA Medical Certificate with EKG
- Follow all Cal Fire and Amentum policies and procedures
- Maintain professional conduct in accordance with company standards
- Be ready to respond and be airborne within 15 minutes of dispatch
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1800 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) airplane
- Minimum 800 hours as Pilot in Command multi-engine airplane
- Minimum 200 hours mountain flying experience
- Minimum 75 hours total instrument time
- Minimum 50 hours actual instrument time
- Minimum 100 hours night flying experience
- Minimum 10 hours make and model to be flown
- 500 hours aerial firefighting experience as PIC or co-pilot
- 100 hours AME over 6000 lbs
- 50 hours AME over 12500 lbs
- 50 hours AME turbine powered
- Valid Class 2 FAA Medical Certificate with EKG (age 40+)
Job Duties
- Staff air tactical platform at assigned Cal Fire base on assigned duty schedule
- Reside within 45 minutes of assigned Air Attack Base
- Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) of assigned Air Tactical aircraft
- Work in cohesion with assigned Air Tactical Group Supervisors
- Respond to assigned dispatches accordingly and be airborne within 15 minutes of dispatch notification
- Act in accordance with assigned Air Attack Base policies and procedures
- Adhere to all Cal Fire 8300 policy and procedure
