Job Requirements
- Minimum 1,800 hours total airplane flight time
- Minimum 800 hours multi-engine flight time
- Minimum 200 hours mountain terrain flight experience
- Minimum 75 hours total instrument flight time
- Minimum 50 hours actual instrument flight time
- Minimum 100 hours night flight time
- Minimum 10 hours flight time in make and model to be flown
- Minimum 500 hours aerial firefighting experience as pilot-in-command or co-pilot
- Minimum 100 hours flying airplanes over 6,000 pounds
- Minimum 50 hours flying turbine-powered multi-engine airplanes
Job Qualifications
- Valid commercial pilot license
- Minimum 1,800 hours total airplane flight time
- Minimum 800 hours multi-engine flight time
- Minimum 200 hours mountain terrain flight experience
- Minimum 75 hours total instrument flight time
- Minimum 50 hours actual instrument flight time
- Minimum 100 hours night flight time
- Minimum 10 hours flight time in make and model to be flown
- Experience in aerial firefighting as pilot-in-command or co-pilot
- Experience flying airplanes over 6,000 lbs and 12,500 lbs
- Experience with turbine-powered multi-engine airplanes
Job Duties
- Operate multi-engine and turbine-powered aircraft for aerial firefighting missions
- Conduct flights in mountainous terrain under various conditions
- Perform night and instrument flight operations safely
- Serve as pilot-in-command or co-pilot during firefighting assignments
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and FAA regulations
- Collaborate with ground firefighting teams to coordinate aerial support
- Ensure proper maintenance reporting and pre-flight inspections
