Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • rotorcraft-helicopter commercial and instrument rated license
  • FAA First or Second Class Medical certificate
  • 2500 total flight hours with minimum 2000 hours in rotorcraft category
  • 1500 hours pilot-in-command in rotorcraft category
  • 1000 hours rotorcraft turbine time with 500 hours twin engine
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time with 50 hours at night
  • 200 hours unaided night as pilot-in-command
  • 75 hours instrument time in rotorcraft category
  • valid Florida driver’s license without restrictions
  • maintain Florida or National Registry EMT license

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • possession of a rotorcraft-helicopter commercial and instrument rated license
  • possession of an FAA First or Second Class Medical certificate
  • minimum 2500 total flight hours with at least 2000 hours in rotorcraft category
  • at least 1500 hours pilot-in-command in rotorcraft category
  • 1000 hours rotorcraft turbine time with a minimum of 500 hours twin engine time
  • 500 hours cross-country flight time including at least 50 hours at night
  • 200 hours unaided night as pilot-in-command
  • 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time in rotorcraft category (Level D FSTD for simulator time)
  • valid Florida driver’s license without restrictions
  • maintain a valid Florida or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician license

Job Duties

  • perform flight operations within the Aviation Division
  • operate as pilot in command for multi engine helicopters
  • respond to emergency and fire rescue missions
  • provide assistance with on-the-scene emergency medical care
  • act without direct supervision utilizing initiative and discretion during emergencies
  • comply with FAA regulations and departmental policies
  • perform related work as directed
