Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Rotorcraft-Helicopter Commercial and Instrument rated license
- FAA First or Second Class Medical certificate
- Minimum 2,500 total flight hours
- Minimum 2,000 hours in flight category
- 1,500 hours pilot-in-command in category
- 1,000 hours rotorcraft turbine time with 500 twin engine hours
- 500 cross-country flight hours with 50 night hours
- 200 hours unaided night as PIC
- 75 hours instrument flight time
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Maintain current EMT license
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a Rotorcraft-Helicopter Commercial and Instrument rated license
- FAA First or Second Class Medical certificate
- Minimum 2,500 total flight hours with 2,000 hours in category
- 1,500 hours pilot-in-command in category
- 1,000 hours rotorcraft turbine time including 500 hours twin engine
- 500 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 hours at night
- 200 hours unaided night as PIC (100 hours may be substituted with NVG but not below 100 unaided)
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument time in flight category (simulator time only if certified Level D FSTD)
- Valid Florida driver’s license throughout employment
- Maintain State of Florida or National Registry EMT license
Job Duties
- Operate helicopters as pilot in command for multi-engine rotorcraft in emergency medical and fire rescue missions
- Provide direct on-the-scene emergency medical care support
- Conduct flight operations under administrative direction within the Aviation Division
- Utilize initiative and discretion to act independently during emergency situations
- Execute pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks and procedures
- Communicate effectively with emergency personnel and dispatch centers
- Maintain compliance with FAA regulations and departmental policies
