Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority permit if applicable
- minimum age of 18 if driving cargo handling equipment
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
- ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- ability to handle stress in a fast-paced environment
- ability to drive cargo handling equipment
- ability to concentrate on detail
- ability to learn PC skills and apply knowledge
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- valid driver’s license and Port or Airport Authority permit if applicable
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
- proficiency in English including reading, writing and speaking
- minimum typing speed of 30 WPM
- attention to detail
- basic PC skills and ability to learn new software
- strong communication and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Prepare flight documentation prior to arrivals and departures
- interface with U.S. Customs and prepare import and export paperwork
- accept and distribute cargo according to regulations
- solicit sales and communicate with customers
- estimate delivery dates based on schedules
- move cargo weighing up to 70 pounds
- comply with site security procedures and report security breaches
- drive cargo handling equipment
- travel to Airport Operational Area to retrieve or deliver flight documents
- notify brokers or freight forwarders of shipment status
- assist customers in retrieving documents and freight
- collect charges and document payment methods
- process 'Customs Out' proof of delivery
- complete MAWBS for shipments
- confirm bookings and TSA screening
- capture AWB data into airline systems
- manifest flights based on warehouse info
- print and deliver flight manifests and other required documents
- verify post-flight inventories
- maintain filing and reporting of all documents
- respond to calls and emails
- adhere to security requirements under Airport Police and TSA
- retrieve import and export documents to and from aircraft
