Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority permit if applicable
- at least 18 years of age if driving cargo handling equipment
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
- ability to lift up to 70 lbs
- ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced work environment
- compliance with security procedures
- ability to drive cargo handling equipment
- able to read, write, and speak English fluently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- valid driver's license
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
- experience in cargo handling or customer service preferred
- proficiency in computer skills and data entry
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- typing speed of at least 30 WPM
- strong attention to detail
- ability to learn and apply PC skills
Job Duties
- Handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift
- drive all cargo handling equipment
- prepare documentation prior to flight arrival or departure, review, organize, make copies and distribute accordingly
- travel to Airport Operational Area to meet flight upon arrival or departure to retrieve or drop off flight documents
- notify broker or freight forwarder on the Master Airway Bill of shipment's arrival at warehouse or on hold
- assist customers arriving to retrieve their documents and freight
- collect appropriate charges and document method of payment
- process Customs Out (proof of delivery) for every transaction before customers depart
- assist in completion of Master Airway Bills for over-the-counter shipments
- confirm all bookings are accepted
- confirm TSA mandatory screening
- capture airway bill information into airline systems
- manifest flight based on warehouse information
- print and deliver flight manifest, cargo pallet message, deadload and NOTOC to aircraft
- verify post flight inventory with documents
- maintain organized files of all pertinent documents and records
- prepare reports including irregularity and weekly import/export statistics
- answer incoming calls and respond to emails
- maintain security diligence under Airport Police, TSA, and U.S. regulations
- retrieve import and deliver export documents to and from aircraft
