Job Requirements

  • Experience in EMS-related field or dispatching experience for a public service agency
  • International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialist (IAMTCS) CFC course within 18 months of hire or transfer
  • excellent computer skills
  • customer service skills
  • navigational and medical terminology knowledge
  • able to multi-task
  • map reading
  • knowledge of FCC rules and regulations for communication system in use
  • ability to accurately operate and file information into mapping software, patch-matrix, and Flight For Life communication center database
  • provides excellent customer service via phone and radio technology with requesting agencies and referring facilities
  • high school diploma or G.E.D
  • emergency medical technician preferred

Job Duties

  • Dispatching all transport activity of Flight For Life
  • serve as general communicator for all of Flight For Life to keep staff informed of all activity and transport requests
  • maintain Flight For Life database
  • coordinates transfer center activity
