Job Requirements

  • HS diploma, GED or equivalent
  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e., Friday, Saturday, Sunday), holidays, and days off
  • willingness to join the Transport Workers Union and pay union dues

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • ability to understand and follow verbal commands and safety instructions
  • experience with basic cargo handling equipment is a plus
  • good communication skills
  • detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
  • HS diploma, GED or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouse
  • load and unload cargo from pallets and containers
  • build up cargo for outbound flights
  • break down cargo from import flights
  • facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks
  • may operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks
  • check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo
  • confirm dangerous goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specific procedure for DG shipments when received, including when shipment is abandoned by consignee
  • ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without assistance of sight or visual aids
