Job Requirements

  • HS diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Membership in the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and willingness to pay union dues

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Experience with cargo handling equipment is a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures in cargo handling
  • Good physical stamina and ability to work in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouse
  • Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers
  • Build up cargo for outbound flights
  • Break down cargo from import flights
  • Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks
  • May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks
  • Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo
  • Confirm Dangerous Goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specific procedure for DG shipments when received, including when shipment is abandoned by consignee
  • Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without assistance of sight or visual aids
