Job Requirements
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
- Membership in the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and willingness to pay union dues
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Experience with cargo handling equipment is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures in cargo handling
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Responsible for moving air cargo within designated warehouse
- Load and unload cargo from pallets and containers
- Build up cargo for outbound flights
- Break down cargo from import flights
- Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from semitrucks
- May operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks
- Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo
- Confirm Dangerous Goods have been checked within aircraft limits and follow specific procedure for DG shipments when received, including when shipment is abandoned by consignee
- Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without assistance of sight or visual aids
