Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off
  • Must join Transport Workers Union and pay union dues
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions
  • Ability to distinguish colors red, green, and yellow
  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand safety commands

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Experience in handling heavy cargo or working in ground operations preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-noise environments
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to operate heavy vehicles safely

Job Duties

  • Load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs in and out of aircraft within confined cargo areas
  • Push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs on rollers with/to aircraft
  • Drive vehicles with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs in congested areas
  • Engage in push-out of aircraft driving 80,000 lb vehicle or guide driver during push-back
  • Transport cargo to and from aircraft using appropriate vehicles
  • Communicate ground to cockpit via hand signals and voice commands
  • Pull, push, and lift bags onto or from conveyor belts
  • Connect water hoses and electric cables to aircraft
  • De-ice aircraft at heights of 20 to 80 feet
  • Confront unauthorized personnel in secured areas and report incidents
