Job Requirements
- HS diploma, GED or equivalent
- valid driver's license
- Port Authority or Airport Authority permit if applicable
- must be at least 18 years of age if driving cargo handling equipment
- ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English
- minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
- ability to concentrate on detail
- ability to learn and apply PC skills
- good communication and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift
- drive all cargo handling equipment
- prepare documentation prior to flight arrival or departure, review, organize, make copies and distribute accordingly
- travel to Airport Operational Area (AOA) to meet flight upon arrival or departure to retrieve or drop off flight documents
- notify broker or freight forwarder on the Master Airway Bill (MAWB) of shipment's arrival or hold status at warehouse
- provide assistance to customers retrieving documents and freight
- collect charges and document payment method
- process "Customs Out" (proof of delivery) for transactions
- assist in completion of MAWBS for over-the-counter shipments
- confirm all bookings and TSA mandatory screening
- data capture AWB information into airline systems
- manifest flights based on warehouse information
- print and deliver flight manifests and relevant cargo documents to aircraft
- verify post-flight inventory
- maintain filing of all pertinent documents and records
- prepare various reports
- answer calls and respond to emails
- maintain security compliance with airport authorities
- retrieve import/export documents to and from aircraft
