Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3-5 years of experience in international air freight forwarding
  • knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and applicable government agency requirements
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • working knowledge of transportation management systems
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to sit, walk, use hands/fingers for keyboarding, reach with arms, talk and hear during regular work activities
  • full-time onsite availability
  • consistent attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • related trade certifications a plus
  • BA in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or related field preferred
  • minimum 3-5 years of experience in International Air Freight Forwarding
  • additional freight forwarding background including import/export regulations, IFS, AMS, CPB, TSA, CTPAT, domestic transport modes, pricing methodology is advantageous
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • experience using load boards such as bid boards is an asset
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • demonstrated teamwork, cooperation, and respect for colleagues

Job Duties

  • Arrange and monitor international air and ocean import shipments from overseas origin to final delivery
  • track cargo movements and ensure timely, accurate transportation from end to end
  • prepare, review, and process all required import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices
  • create required documentation for air import shipments and maintain complete, accurate filing for audits
  • ensure shipments comply with U.S. Customs and partner Government Agency regulations
  • coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate timely clearance
  • proactively communicate shipment status, delays, and delivery updates to customers
  • provide day-to-day tracking, tracing, and movement monitoring
  • communicate with airlines, steamship lines, trucking companies, and overseas agents to confirm bookings, resolve discrepancies, and ensure smooth cargo flow
  • create and distribute load tenders to appropriate transportation partners and follow up to ensure delivery performance
  • verify vendor invoices and generate customer billing
  • resolve payment discrepancies and prevent invoicing errors
  • identify and troubleshoot issues related to documentation, customs holds, transportation delays, or shipment exceptions
  • escalate shipments at risk of missing scheduled commitments and keep customers and management informed
  • update and maintain accurate shipment data in the company’s operating system
  • ensure proper recordkeeping for compliance, audit readiness, and service accuracy
  • collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • perform additional related duties as assigned
