Job Requirements

  • More than two years of post high school education but less than a degree from a four-year college or equivalent field experience
  • Four to five years of employment in a related position within this company or other organizations
  • Advanced knowledge of building management or engineering
  • Considerable working knowledge of other major areas in the hotel with the skill to integrate and communicate that information
  • Ability to analyze activities and information involving original data manipulation or interpretation
  • Strong management skills
  • Ability to provide information and associated services to hotel management

Job Duties

  • Ensure that each property develops, implements and manages a preventative maintenance program, including assessing the accuracy of inventory and repair records of major mechanical equipment
  • Assist, negotiate and review maintenance contracts for each hotel
  • Assist develop and execute the capital budget plan for each hotel in accordance with the standards of the brand, ownership, and Interstate, including involvement in the bidding process, vendor selection, and submission of complete and accurate paperwork
  • Ensure that each property develops and implements all Emergency Programs, ensuring drills are completed, ensure compliance with all codes and regulations, ensure training and development of all employees and maintain accurate records to ensure a safe environment which protects the assets, guests, and employees
  • Train new engineers on company standards, conduct ongoing training of maintenance staff within the portfolio, assist in diagnosing mechanical problems and direct engineers in appropriate actions to rectify
  • Oversee development, implementation and management of energy conservation programs for each property to minimize expenses
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate on committees as requested
