Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • previous healthcare experience preferred
  • ability to perform standing, stooping, bending and walking for an eight hour shift
  • ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 10 to 25 pounds frequently
  • knowledge of personal protective equipment usage
  • adherence to standard precautions
  • availability to work shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including days, evenings, nights and weekends

  • healthcare experience

Job Duties

  • perform housekeeping duties in patient and public areas to ensure a clean, attractive and safe environment
  • empty, clean and reline waste baskets
  • perform daily cleaning, high/low dusting, mopping, sweeping, spot cleaning, polishing and vacuuming
  • wipe tabletops, phones, TV cords, and doorknobs
  • replenish room supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, seat covers and hand soap
  • transport trash from utility rooms and collection spots to pick up points
  • assist in cleaning emergency situations that are observed or requested
  • maintain arrangement of furniture in patient rooms, offices and lounges
  • understand the proper use of chemicals, dilution, usage and measuring
  • participate in and attend all in-services, become familiar with the employee handbook and understand policies and procedures
  • accept and carry out assignments, provide coverage for laundry caregivers and perform other tasks as assigned
