Job Requirements
- Must be able to pull, push, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to accept assignments and schedule changes as necessary

- Ability to maintain courteous interactions with patients and staff throughout the workday

Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Knowledge of powered floor equipment such as buffing machines
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to follow infection control procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Works under the general direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Assembles the required cleaning equipment and supplies needed for the assigned work
- Prepares cleaning solutions and uses detergents, soap, germicides and other cleaning agents according to established practices
- Operates power-buffing equipment and performs all aspects of floor care including refinishing and carpet shampooing
- Cleans walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, lighting fixtures, lavatories, plumbing fixtures, and patient areas
- Performs trash removal including municipal solid waste, cardboard, recyclables, and biohazardous waste disposal
- Adheres to departmental quality standards and infection control procedures
- Keeps supply stocked at proper levels
- Moves furniture and sets up meeting rooms as required
- Reports unsafe conditions to supervision
- Maintains clean and orderly work areas and equipment
- Adheres to prescribed safety practices and uses proper protection when working with chemicals and infectious materials
- Performs duties with minimal interruption to patients, nurses, and other personnel
- Demonstrates courteous behavior and good public relations skills
