Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency
- Two years of experience in public contact either in person or by telephone
- Must pass Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility
- Felony convictions, felony deferred adjudication, Class A & B misdemeanor deferred adjudication, Class B misdemeanor convictions, open arrest for any criminal offense (felony or misdemeanor), and family violence convictions will disqualify applicants
- Must meet minimum requirements established by Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for Telecommunicators
- Must pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment clearance upon employment
- Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Two years of public contact experience either in person or by telephone
- Ability to meet the minimum requirements established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for Telecommunicators
- Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment clearance upon employment
- Ability to maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times
- Type 35 words per minute confirmed by Texas Workforce Commission typing certificate preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to multi-task preferred
- Excellent memory retention preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred
Job Duties
- Dispatches Airport Police, fire, security, maintenance, transportation, operations and parking personnel to appropriate request for service
- Operates fire and security systems and monitors CCTV cameras throughout the Airport
- Conducts periodic checks on security checkpoint alarms and maintains logs in accordance with FAA regulations
- Performs registration checks on vehicle license plates, driver's license, and warrants through the computer aided dispatch system
- Generates San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) case numbers on specific cases and logs all pertinent information
- Maintains logs on lost and found property, persons and vehicles paged, vehicles impounded, shift change checklists, maintenance call back numbers, and incidents recorded on each DVR discs or thumbdrives
- Provides information to the general public and tourists visiting the San Antonio International Airport
- Maintains and provides flight status information on cancelled or delayed flights
- Maintains current knowledge of facilities, buildings and airfield on San Antonio property
- Performs necessary notification on significant unforeseen events (i.e., bomb threats, aircraft emergencies, aircraft accidents and severe weather warnings)
- Records pertinent events on DVRs
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
