Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- minimum two years of event planning and budgeting experience or equivalent
- valid North Carolina driver license
- ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- ability to manage multiple events and priorities
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- excellent communication skills
- ability to train and supervise volunteers
- knowledge of safety and accessibility regulations
- physically able to perform duties involving lifting and standing

Job Qualifications

- at least two years of experience in event planning and budgeting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- experience working with aging adults preferred
- knowledge of event planning and program development
- thorough understanding of planning and implementing events tailored to aging adults
- knowledge of Aging Services and needs of aging adults
- skill in budgeting and financial management
- ability to manage multiple events and priorities
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to identify issues and implement solutions
- skilled in training, supervising, and motivating staff and volunteers
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- knowledge of safety and compliance standards
- understanding of health, safety, and accessibility regulations
- ability to adjust plans and bring creative ideas
- ability to establish effective working relationships
Job Duties
- designs, develops, and implements a diverse calendar of events including Senior Games, SilverArts, Healthy Aging Expo, 6 Over 60 Celebration, Veterans Celebration, Black History Month, Volunteer Appreciation, and educational workshops
- oversees logistical aspects of events including facility scheduling, room setup, food and beverage coordination, transportation arrangements, and equipment needs
- prepares, manages, and monitors event budgets and tracks expenses
- serves as primary liaison with vendors, community organizations, and stakeholders
- ensures event offerings are inclusive and tailored to diverse interests and abilities
- recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff and volunteers
- ensures compliance with federal, state, local regulations and internal guidelines
- proactively addresses issues to ensure smooth event operations
- performs other duties as assigned
