Job Requirements
- Physical ability to lift and move items up to 70 pounds regularly and repetitively lift 40-50 pounds to raised surfaces
- Ability to carry heavy items up and down narrow jetway stairs
- Capacity to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently for extended periods
- Comfortable working in cramped or elevated spaces
- Ability to stay alert around moving vehicles and aircraft and use radio communication
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions with loud machinery noise
- Good communication skills including verbal and radio communication
- Basic math and computer skills to calculate and track cargo and baggage
- Strong time management and problem-solving abilities
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Hold a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada as applicable
- Completion of ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport security identification
- Ability to secure Customs Seal if required
- Preferred one year or more of relevant experience
Job Duties
- Guide inbound/outbound airplanes to and from the gate
- Transport, lift, load/unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail in and out of aircraft bins or carts safely
- Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, and damage
- Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock supplies
- Operate heavy equipment such as pushback tractors and maintain visual contact with wing walkers
- Operate motorized equipment like belt loaders, lift trucks, deicers, and manually push carts
- Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials
- Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo including wheelchairs, strollers, live animals, and prepare related records
- Complete paperwork and data entry related to work assignments
- Follow company safety procedures and protocols consistently
- Complete required training for company and airport authority compliance
- Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
