Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must maintain current CPR/First-Aid/Bloodborne Pathogens certification
- Provide a statement of health from a medical physician verifying physical fitness and including a clean TB test
- Must enjoy being outdoors
- Must be available Mondays - Fridays, 2:45 pm - 6:15 pm, preferably five days a week
- Must pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting through the FBI and state police
- Ideally able to work full academic year September through early June
- Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching
- Ability to sit on the floor and get up throughout the day
- Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods including outdoor supervision
- Ability to react quickly in emergencies
- Sufficient vision and hearing to monitor children
- Capacity for light cleaning duties
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
- Summers-Knoll/Greenhills property is tobacco-free
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings preferred
- Current CPR, First-Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds
- Capacity to perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow established policies
Job Duties
- Supervise and engage children ages 3-11 in age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment
- Implement behavior guidance in alignment with school policies
- Support children’s emotional and social development through positive interactions
- Communicate promptly with school staff regarding any concerns or incidents
- Follow all safety, emergency, and health procedures diligently
